DEATH OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II    - It is with sadness that Buckingham Palace announced the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on the 8th September 2022. The Queen was aged 96 and reigned as the British monarch for 70 years.

A national period of mourning followed the death of Queen Elizabeth II until the end of the State Funeral.    At Hambrough:

  • School remained open as usual for all pupils during this time of National Mourning.
  • Monday 19th September was declared a Bank Holiday to mark the state funeral of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II - the school was closed on this day.
  • 9th September 2022- we led a whole school assembly commemorating the life of Her Majesty, the Queen.
  • A newsletter was sent to all parents and carers on the 9th September 2022.
  • We will be flexible and ensure all pupils are supported and listened to.
