Music at Hambrough
Our aim at Hambrough Primary School is to offer a diverse musical curriculum which is fun and educational for our pupils. We know that music reflects the culture and society we live in, and so our teaching and learning of music aims to enable pupils to better understand the world. Our music curriculum aims to equip pupils with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to be able to create, play, perform confidently and make judgements about the quality of music. In so doing, we desire that our pupils develop craftsmanship; applying musical skills and techniques purposefully and be able to communicate and reason musically.
Our pupils are provided with opportunities to explore the work of a diverse range of composers from whom they can glean inspiration and learn musical techniques. We aim that the study of music will support our pupils to understand its impact on shaping cultures and societies.
