Parent Worshops

Contact Ealing with Southall Alliance would like to share the below information about two of our upcoming free events for Ealing parents and carers raising children with special educational needs and disabilities, aged 0-25 years.

In addition, please find attached the parent / carer registration form for new parent referrals (note, parents can also self-refer) and the Autumn 2022 timetable of events and workshops.

Please see the attached (above) flyers for all of the free, online parent workshop flyers that the Mainstream Schools Speech and Language Therapy Universal Team for this term.

The flyers (attached) contain information on how the workshops can be booked. 

The workshops include:

  • Understanding behaviours and managing emotions: Thursday 10th February from 1-2pm (for children aged 5+)
  • The Pronunciation of Speech sounds: Tuesday 22nd February from 11am-12pm (for children aged 5+)
  • Using communication skills to prepare for transition to high school: Tuesday 22nd March 5-6pm (for children in Year 6)
  • Supporting social communication, run with Ealing Contact’s Autism Support Group on Tuesday 8th February 10.30am-12pm (for children aged up to 11 years)
  • Lego-based therapy - run with Ealing Achor on Monday 21st February 10-11.30am (for children of any age)

We would love for you to access this information if possible -  You do not need to have a child with an identified speech, language or communication need to be able to attend.

Our school partners – ConnectEd mental health service in our school are offering parent/carer workshops which explore the impact of the pandemic on children’s mental health and wellbeing.

Workshop will cover the following:

  1. Supporting your child’s Emotional Wellbeing
  2. Supporting your child to manage anxious feelings  
  3. Looking after our mental health
