EAST AFRICA APPEAL 2017

UNICEF Headlines: FAMINE IN IN EAST AFRICA – 5.5 MILLION CHILDREN IN DANGER!

“Right now, across East Africa, drought, war and lack of food mean millions of children and their families are facing starvation. More than 880,000 children are severely malnourished and desperately need immediate life-saving food. Without this help, one in five of these children could die.”

Mufty Day - 31st March 2017

In support of the East Africa  Appeal and as part of our Rights Respecting learning the school held a NON-UNIFORM DAY ON FRIDAY 31st MARCH 2017. To raise funds for the appeal, we asked children to contribute £1.00 or more, to be brought on the day, for the privilege of wearing their own clothes.

A total of £417.12 was collected and donated to Unicef for the East Africa Appeal.

Silent Day March 2015

In Spring Term 2015 we held a 'We Are Silent' day to remember all the children across the world whose basic rights are denied and who have no voice to speak out.

We all brought in 54p to represent the 54 articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. All the money went to our International Charity, UNICEF.

We marched through Southall silently with posters to highlight the issues children face around the world.
