PUPIL OUTCOMES 2017

Pupils at Hambrough have achieved well this school year. We have seen sustained results in many areas of the school, with significant improvements in attainment for the children at the end of Key Stage Two. This is as a result of effective teaching, the children’s passion for learning and the support from families at home.

        Early Years Foundation Stage

  • 75% of children achieved a 'good level of development', showing their readiness to start learning in Year 1.

    Year 1 phonics screening check

  • 76% of pupils met the expected standard for phonics at the end of Year 1.
  • 83% of disadvantaged pupils met the expected standard, giving these pupils the best possible start to reading in Year 2.

    Year 2 phonics screening retake

  • 87% of pupils met the expected standard for the phonics retake in Year 2.

    Key-Stage 1

  • Children in Year 2 attained in line with children nationally in Reading (76%), Writing (71%) and Maths (73%), based on 2015-2016 national results.
  • There is an increase of children who had higher prior attainment in Reception now achieving greater depth in Writing and Maths at the end of Year 2.
  • Disadvantaged children attained well in Reading (89%) and Writing (78%).
  • End of Key-Stage 2

  • Significant increase in children’s attainment at the expected standard in all subjects.

  • Children’s attainment in Maths (82%) is 7% above national.
  • Children’s attainment in Writing and their combined attainment are in line with national.
  • Children achieving greater depth in Reading (16%), Writing (8%), Combined (7%) and GPS (51%) has increased this academic year.
  • Children achieving greater depth in Maths (23%) remains above national.
  • Significant increase in attainment for disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs.
  • Progress measures are due to be released by the government in September
